I work from a warm and strength-based approach. I believe we possess the inner wisdom and with the right guidance we are experts at our own healing. With my background as a queer Middle Eastern/Iranian immigrant, I bring both personal understanding and professional expertise to our sessions.
My work experience in hospital, community, and higher education settings paired with my educational background in psychology, sociology, and social work inform my holistic and anti-oppressive practice. There is no individual mental health without the social and political factors affecting us, and I believe we grow and thrive in community with others
I take an anti-capitalist and anti-imperialist approach to situating our individual mental health in the world we live in.
